MongoDB GUI for Windows
A native MongoDB GUI for Windows.
BsonJet updates itself in one click: no wizard, no admin prompt, no hunting for installers. It installs without admin rights or runs from a portable ZIP. No Electron, no Java. Free for personal use.
Why Windows users look for a new MongoDB GUI
- The light one is gone. Robo 3T is no longer developed. Its last version embeds the MongoDB 4.2 shell.
- The official one is Electron. Compass is a web application with its own browser and an installer of around 190 MB. It also asks for the .NET Framework, and its support for Windows 10 is deprecated.
- The professional ones are heavy or yearly. Studio 3T runs on Java and costs from $499 per user every year. NoSQLBooster is Electron and costs $239 per user.

What you get on Windows
- Updates without the fuss. When a new version is out, BsonJet tells you. One click: it downloads the update, checks its checksum and signature, installs it with no wizard and no admin prompt, and starts again. That's it.
- No admin rights needed. The installer puts BsonJet into your user profile, so it works on a locked-down company laptop too. Or unzip the portable version anywhere and run it, the data stays in a folder next to it.
- Nothing else to install. No .NET, no Java, no Node. Everything BsonJet needs is inside.
- Copy & paste at every level. Documents, collections and whole databases between servers, indexes included.
- Backups straight to an encrypted ZIP, mongodump-compatible, restore here or with mongorestore.
- Jobs that survive your VPN. A copy, backup or restore waits out a lost connection or a replica set election and continues where it stopped.
- Your whole cluster at a glance. Role, lag, disk and cache of every replica set member, with live performance charts.
- Saved passwords protected by your Windows account, so BsonJet opens without asking for a master password.
What to know
BsonJet runs on 64-bit Windows 10 and later. The installer is signed by Letsnet s.r.o., a publisher still new to Windows, so SmartScreen may warn you the first time. Click More info and Run anyway. Updates from inside the app do not ask again.
Switching is easy
- Bring your connections in one click. Import connections finds the connections of Compass, Studio 3T, Robo 3T, NoSQLBooster, DataGrip, DbGate and DBeaver on your computer, with replica sets, SSH tunnels and TLS settings.
- Everything connects:
mongodb://andmongodb+srv://, replica sets, TLS, SSH tunnels, X.509 client certificates and AWS IAM login are supported. - The full version is free for personal use. At work you can try it for free. No registration, no credit card.
